2010 FRIENDS OF THE FOREST ANNUAL BENEFIT EVENT
October 23, 2010.
We are excited about the changes we have made this year! We are moving to the Port Warehouse, located at 1st and Commercial Ave. in Anacortes and starting at 5:30 pm. Join us for the best party of the year! We think we’ve made it even better by moving to a larger venue with more space to accommodate all of our forest friends. Highlights include music by Fidalgo Swing and Spoonshine Duo, great food prepared by Gere-a-Deli and decorations by Donatello.
Schedule of Events for the evening:
5:30 to 7:00 Drinks and Silent Auction
7 :00 to 8:00 Dinner
8:00 to 9:00 Live Auction
9:00 to 11:00 Music / Dancing
Tickets: $50.00 per person with $25.00 being tax deductible / $400.00 per table of 8 or $500.00 per table of 10. Tickets are available through the Friends of the Forest office or Watermark Book Company
Tracy Powell is the featured artist for this year’s event. He has created a forest-inspired wall plaque, carved from limestone called Greenwoman which is our poster image and featured piece in the live auction. Many other artists and businesses in Anacortes have donated items for the silent and live auctions. Here is a sample: Original artwork by Jennifer Bowman, Leo Osborne, and Jackie DeGavia; a catered Sushi dinner; artistic jewelry and fiber work; spa and massage services; and much more.
Funds raised go to support the Friends Forest Education and Stewardship Program. This program provides a wide range of educational activities in the ACFL that promote a greater understanding of and support for our unique community treasure.
