Funding
The Friends of the ACFL is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation. Our IRS Form 990 is available for public inspection at our offices.
We are funded by an endowment from the Gerry Wallrath trust, grants, donations, and membership dues as well as by program cost sharing with the City of Anacortes and the Anacortes School District. All donations and membership dues are tax deductible. The Friends of the ACFL also holds an annual benefit dance and auction each autumn to raise funds for our forest education program.
Our primary program expenses are for our year-round forest education program, our support of the City's Conservation Easement Program and our quarterly newsletter.
