Give Through Your IRA

Giving to Friends of the Forest through your IRA account is a great option for many of our members already, and could be right for you! Read more about what this looks like and please reach out to us with questions or if this is something you’re considering.

Consider and IRA Charitable Rollover IF YOU:

  • are 70 ½ or older,

  • have an Individual Retirement Account (IRA)

  • do not depend upon your required minimum distribution from your IRA for living expenses

Benefits of an IRA charitable rollover

  1. Make tax-free gifts totaling up to $105,000 from your IRA directly to qualified charities, like Friends of the Forest

  2. Satisfy your IRA’s required minimum distribution (RMD) for the year

  3. Reduce your taxable income, even if you do not itemize deductions

  4. Make a gift that is not subject to the deduction limits on charitable gifts

How an IRA charitable rollover gift works

  1. Contact your IRA plan administrator to make a gift from your IRA to us.

  2. Your IRA funds will be directly transferred to our organization to help continue our important work.

  3. Please note that IRA charitable rollover gifts do not qualify for a charitable deduction.

  4. Please contact us if you wish for your gift to be used for a specific purpose.

IRA Distributions should be made payable to:
