Forest Discovery Center

Come see Friends of the ACFL at our NEW location at 404 Commercial Ave.

Our small nature center serves as a place where community members, young and old, can explore, learn about, and become better stewards of the ACFL. During our soft opening we will have many of our exhibits up on the walls and some exciting new merchandise available for sale. 

Please join us Fridays & Saturdays between 12pm - 4pm at the Forest Discovery Center at 404 Commercial Avenue, Anacortes. 

For our soft opening, we will be open most Fridays and Saturdays until December 21st. After which we will be closing to train a team of volunteers and put the final touches on our exhibits before our grand opening this coming spring.

Come to the Forest Discovery Center and find:

• A classroom to host existing programs such as our Naturalist Club and Trail Ambassadors, as well as become a home for future community workshops, lectures, and additional youth art and science programs

• Exhibits on the history of the ACFL, forest ecology, and rotating interactive youth and community partnership displays

• A “home base” for forest users to find maps, hike recommendations, and other guided activities in the ACFL

• Updates on Friends’ upcoming community & youth events and programming in the forest
