Welcome, Josie Henderson, our new Executive Director
We are thrilled to announce that Josie Henderson has been appointed as the new Executive Director of the Friends of the ACFL. Josie, a passionate advocate for the outdoors and a dedicated community leader, brings a wealth of experience in nonprofit management and a deep love for the natural beauty of Anacortes.
Josie's commitment to our community is evident in her current role as a Board Member of the Anacortes Public Library Foundation and her previous volunteer service to our organization. Her passion for the outdoors is also reflected in her personal activities; she enjoys hiking ACFL’s trails, which has fostered both a desire to educate people about this amazing resource, as well as an appreciation for the importance of preserving these natural spaces for future generations.
With over 20 years of experience in leading nonprofit organizations, Josie has a proven track record of strategic planning, membership growth, and community engagement. Previous experience includes serving as the CEO of The Rainier Club in Seattle and as the Executive Director for the Oregon Public Health Association. Josie holds a Master of Public Administration degree from Portland State University.
As a resident of Fidalgo Island, Josie is deeply committed to preserving the beauty and integrity of the ACFL. Her love for the outdoors and her dedication to community service make her an ideal fit for this position. We look forward to Josie's leadership in advancing the mission of Friends of the ACFL and enhancing the community's connection with this vital natural resource.
Under Josie's guidance, we anticipate a renewed focus on community engagement, strategic partnerships, and innovative programming that celebrates the unique beauty of the ACFL. Her appointment marks an exciting new chapter for the organization, and we are eager to see the impact of her leadership in the years to come.
